August 30, 2017

The question on everyone’s lips.  Well not quite but it’s still an important question.

Our friends at Sprout Social have the answer!

In a nutshell here is what Sprout Social found:

  • The best time to post on LinkedIn is Wednesday 3 to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesday is the best day to post to LinkedIn.
  • Engagement varies per day, but Tuesday through Thursday rank best.
  • Friday through Monday receive the least amount of engagement.

Why is this?

The Sprout social data reconfirms traditional marketing benchmarks.

It makes sense when you talk about work patterns.   Traditionally people plan and review on Monday and Friday’s (for the week ahead).

Tues-Thurs are get it done days.  Most now work on a digital device.  LinkedIn often is open news feed.  Simple.

What’s the best time to post on LinkedIn?

Marketers know the two best times to reach someone is when they are in transit (train, plane, bus) or in late afternoon.

In transit makes sense, people are commuting so often looking at news or social feeds.

In the afternoon makes sense, people are tired of boring work and prone to distractions.

There you go.  Get posting people.
